- After four months in Maine, my family is headed back to NC for a few months while my husband and I continue to work remotely. We’ve been playing a complicated game of “what will fit in the car” vs “what can we leave behind/donate/sell” and I am very grateful for our local Buy Nothing Project FB group.
2. I just started listening to The Improvement Association podcast which I’ve been enjoying. It’s about election rigging and takes place in a small town in NC, quite a ways from my hometown but still makes me think of what could be happening in a place like where I grew up.
3. This week I read, Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls. The reading level is 8+ so very different from other things I’ve been reading lately. But I really enjoyed it. I loved the huge range of women featured in the book. The stories were very simplified but it was a fun way to hear about incredible women throughout history from all walks of life in all different fields and professions. The book was super inspirational even reading as an adult (?!).
4. I’m looking forward to my first virtual Oscars weekend. For the past 8 years, I’ve worked back-to-back events in a row and enjoyed my biggest side hustle weekend of the year. This year, I’ll be tuning in to the virtual Elton John Foundation event. I am very interested in seeing how the event will go especially since I love the in-person event so much.
5. I’m late to the party, but finally binged The Queen’s Gambit and loved it. I’ve had the book on hold at the library for a while but needed something to watch this week and ended up going for it. Now I’m even more excited to read the book that inspired the show.

1. These lemon housewares from Pottery Barn’s Rebecca Atwood collaboration made me think of Stella (as all lemon things do), but I’m eyeing a few of them for some updates at our house, too! We’re in need of some new placemats and I like the dreamy, but still functional look of all her creations.
2. Appreciating this rundown of frozen Trader Joe’s meals that are simultaneously delicious and won’t break the bank. It reminded me of the TJ’s devotional post we did on creative dinners a while back.
3. This link got passed around my office’s slack channel a bit last week with many accompanying 🤮 emojis. I have to agree that the sound of a hummus shake does not seem very appealing, but it did remind me of a vegan burger place in my neighborhood that does a delicious tahini milkshake, and now I’ve been craving one for a week!
4. My husband and I watched the Amazon release of ‘Promising Young Woman‘ a few weeks back and I had a lot of interesting reactions to the movie. I’ve chatted with a number of other millennial women friends about it, all conversations that could be pretty summed up with “did I like this? was it good?” I really appreciated the conversation the Still Processing team had around the film, as it gave words to some of my mixed emotions about it.
5. There was a controversy around my go-to face sunscreen a few months ago and I’ve finally finished my last tube so it’s time to try a new brand. I have the Supergoop Glowscreen arriving soon and I hope it’s a valid competitor and replacement.
