It’s no secret that these quaran-times have brought out the cooks, bakers, and sous chefs in a lot of us! With some extra time on our hands, we have both loved delving into some cookbooks we’ve had on the shelf for a while but have yet to crack. These are all some well-loved books in our homes, but we’ve loved expanding our repertoire beyond the cult classics and fan favorites and opening up to some pages we haven’t used yet.
Joanne Chang’s Cookbooks
If you have visited Boston and haven’t stopped into a Joanne Change establishment you are sorely missing out. The sticky buns from Flour and the spicy cauliflower stir fry from Myers + Chang are tastes to be written home about, for sure. We love that Joanne is such a fan of sharing her delicious flavors with the masses.

Sriracha Cookbook Series
Is it surprising that we’re still writing about sriracha? Never mind. We love the rooster sauce condiment and put it on (probably) far too many things. We were psyched a few years ago when The Sriracha Cookbook came out, and even more excited for the vegetarian version to follow it up a couple of years later. We were actually lucky enough to attend the book release for the veggie-lover’s version and meet and befriend author Randy Clemens. We’re huge fans!
To cook from: The Sriracha Cookbook and The Veggie-Lover’s Sriracha Cookbook.
Thug Kitchen Cookbook Series
These fantastic vegan cookbooks are filled with delicious plant based recipes that you won’t even realize are missing the meat. The authors keep things interesting with adult language and attitude, which just adds to the fun of these books! There are three different titles: the flagship cookbook, one for party grub and one for fast meals. We love all three of these books and highly recommend them for vegans and meat-eaters alike!
To cook from: Thug Kitchen, Thug Kitchen Party Grub, and Thug Kitchen 101.
