Is there a magical time when you become an adult? Moving out of your parent's house? Paying your first bill? Getting married? Having kids? Turning 30? We are still figuring it out and writing about our journey along the way!
This is my last week of work in the office before maternity leave so I am scrambling to finish up last minute projects and be sure my team is good to go without me for a few months. It’s a busy week for our team with a few really big events so I am glad I was able to still be around to help finish them up.
On the pregnancy side of things – the baby dropped this week and I am breathing totally differently, I didn’t even realize that I hadn’t been before but now I feel so much lighter. My husband and I have been doing all kinds of things during our last few weeks and trying to enjoy just being the two of us for the little time we have left.
I was very excited to give Amazon’s new show, Modern Love, a try – it was so good! If we ever were to re-write our list of shows like This is Us this new show would be at the top.
I’ve been daydreaming about getting back on a plane and out into the world to travel again. I can’t wait to take the baby to new places. I loved Laura’s goal of all 50 states by 25 and wanted to create a similar goal for our little one. I decided it would be fun to take a photo and make a book of the first time he enters each new state. I just bought this little felt letter board on Amazon to make a “1st State: California” sign to add to my hospital bag.

Baby Ernie is big enough for our hiking backpack now, so I’m hoping this weekend will be our first family hike!
I binged all of Modern Love in the span of two days, on Stella’s recommendation above, and also watched the ‘modern/love‘ series of short films based on Amazon’s recommendation.
I think I’ve put my vacuum recommendations in It’s A Thing before, but if not: I love our combo of the Eufy “robot” vacuum and the Shark Navigator. I generally run the robot every 3-4 days and do a big house vacuuming job every other weekend. With a dog that goes through different shedding seasons, that schedule gets ramped up or down based on her fur. I do have to admit I was a bit intrigued by Mrs. Frugalwoods’ recommendation on the Dyson V7 Motorhead because cordless seems like a much more fun way to get the house clean! Perhaps in a few years when it’s time for a vacuum refresh.
Ernie has been loving this Skip Hop activity center lately. We call it “his workstations” but it’s a nice spot to keep him for 10 minutes while I clean up around the house or scarf down some lunch.
