- I took the day off from work yesterday to do a little bit of baby prep, just four weeks until my due date! I know that all of the laundry will probably drive me crazy down the road, but for now, I am really enjoying all of the tiny things like these infant safari socks.
- I loved this episode of ChooseFI where the guys interview one of Laura’s favorite bloggers, Mrs. Frugalwoods. My husband and I both gave it a listen and had a great talk about how even though we are in the middle of baby prep and tons of purchases, there is no better time than the present to think about frugality.
- Per Laura’s recommendation for the best place to buy diapers, I finally got myself a Costco membership and have been absolutely loving it so far. I also really enjoyed this tweet thread about how they make money while keeping prices so low. It’s already saved me a ton of money on my smoothie ingredients.
- Cool promo if you’ve never bought an Amazon gift card before. Add a $50 gift card to your cart and apply the promo code 19GIFTCARD, you’ll get a $15 credit within 2-3 days. You can send gift cards to yourself by the way 🙂 If you’re not eligible, you’ll get a message saying “code cannot be applied”.

- This Lisa Frank-inspired hotel room hit me in all the nostalgia feels. I was a sucker for the Lisa Frank folders, stickers, and trapper-keepers during elementary school. Not sure I’d actually be able to sleep amid all that neon, though…
- I’m pretty behind on most (read: all) of my podcasts, but I’m enjoying catching up now that I have my commute back. This week I listened to Ali on the Run‘s “Motherhood Mondays” episode featuring Dr. Molly Milwood who also wrote the book, “To Have and to Hold: Motherhood, Marriage, and the Modern Dilemma“. Added to my to-read list, for sure.
- One podcast I have stayed up to date with? Call Your Girlfriend! And I love, LOVED this week’s episode with Hilary and Chelsea Clinton. I have a running list of books to add to baby Ernie’s collection, and “The Book of Gutsy Women” is now at the top of the list. (Also added Chelsea’s books, “She Persisted” and “Don’t Let Them Disappear“, which I did not know about until the episode!) Also loved Ann’s recommendation of “People.”
- I was glad to read about the CDC’s latest study to do with the TDAP vaccine and flu shots. We sent out an email to family and close friends before Ernie was born and basically laid down the law: if you want to meet him in his first 6 months, get the shots. I think it’s so important to vaccinate, and loved how our pediatrician summed it up: “we vaccinate the surrounding population to protect the tiny babies.”

You two sure keep busy – duh! That’s what life is (will be like) for you until the wee-ones head off to their own little nests. Then you can remodel the house – good thing is, you will never run out of blog material! I went to a baby shower this past weekend – I went away thinking, “how did my kids ever survive without all the gadgets they have nowadays?!” The Zen Sacks I totally would’ve gone for though. I loved sacks for my daughters when they were first born. So easy to change diapers! Take care!!
