This past weekend I went to Miami for a friend’s bachelorette party and it. was. a. blast!! I’ve been to the city once before but it was for work, so I didn’t really get any exploring in and definitely not as much beach time as I would have liked! This weekend was all about the beach, poolside drinks, and eating at fantastic spots! These are my top 3 picks for anyone with a limited amount of time:
- Booze, Beach, & Pool: South Beach is for sure the place to see and be seen. And there are myriad locales to choose from when you’re deciding where to set up camp for the day. I’m a fan of The Nautilus Cabana Club (where we stayed… get the frosé!), and I checked out The Surfcomber‘s and 1 Hotel‘s beach setups, all of which looked 100% ready to please!
- 11th Street Diner: Miami has some baller food options, especially in South Beach, but if you red-eye in or have had a crazy night and just need some hash browns to soak up some of that booze, I can’t recommend the 11th Street Diner more! I landed at 4am Eastern after a 5 hour red-eye from LAX and all I wanted was a cup of coffee and some eggs. Diner to the rescue, and the service was fantastic! They let me camp out at the bar for a good hour or so catching up on some Twitter / Kindle / Miami research.
- Miami Beach Boardwalk: With 40 blocks to stroll, this is a not-to-be-missed activity IMO. I had a blast people watching, sunrise gazing, and beach combing along the ~4 mile stretch. Highly recommend grabbing a lemonade or iced tea to stroll with, or link arms with your vacay partners and gab while you get your steps in!
Have you been to Miami recently? Have any recommendations for when I go back?? Let me know in the comments!
