It’s A Thing 3.16.18

- I went on a quick trip up to San Francisco this past weekend for a work event. We didn’t have a ton of time for sightseeing but did get to walk along the Golden Gate Bridge and take a few photos.
- So thrilled that Timeless is back this week! If you’re a fan of the show, you might remember that it was canceled and then renewed 3 days later which never happens in Hollywood. I think it’s a great testament to the show and the power of fans. If you haven’t watched this show and like history and/or time travel – check it out!
- I finally invested in a gym bag that zips! I’ve been using a canvas bag with a big open top and though it’s easy to throw everything in there, I was constantly forgetting things or not being able to find the stuff I’d packed. I love this one that I bought, it’s full of pockets and even has a spot for my water bottle (my most-often-forgotten-item!).
- I am deep in planning mode for a trip to South Africa this summer. My husband and I have been dying to go for ages and are finally going to make it happen. Loving these posts from fellow bloggers about their adventures: [1], [2], [3], [4].

- I zoomed through ‘Meet the Frugalwoods‘ in two days earlier this week. Highly recommend for anyone inspired by the FIRE movement (financial independence, retire early) or looking to get a better handle on their personal finances!
- Tongue-in-cheek list of household classification names from Experian. I’d wager a guess that I’m a “Footloose and Family-Free”…
- I wrote a handful of Yelp reviews this week about our trip to Barcelona [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], and found myself salivating thinking back on all of the (many, many, many!!) foods we tasted!
- A+ creepy and startling long read on escalating roommate drama.
- I attended Google’s Women Techmakers summit in Los Angeles last weekend that celebrated International Women’s Day and their current year’s plan motto of ‘Building a New Horizon.’ I was overwhelmed with the thought and care put into the event and had such a blast meeting other women in tech from my area!
