Our Current Favorite Chrome Extensions

We are huge fans of Google Chrome. We love the multi-user windows (perfect for multitasking!) and the easy integration with Gmail, Google Maps, and Google Flights! Most importantly, we are both obsessed with Chrome Extensions. These are a few of our favorites.

Ebates

I am obsessed with this extension. When you are shopping online, just click the extension button and you’ll get a cash back credit added to your account. Cashback usually ranges from 1-10% for each shopping trip. At the end of the quarter, Ebates will send you your total cash back via Paypal. I’ve been using Ebates for a few years now and already earned $400+ in cash back just on my normal purchases! It’s free and if you sign up via my link, you get a $10 gift card to the store of your choice (Target, Wal-mart, etc). You can read my whole post on saving money online shopping here.

Grammarly

This extension goes way beyond just spellchecking documents. It actually checks every text box that you enter content into. So when you are writing anything on the internet, it checks it. Grammarly catches things that normal spellcheck misses. It’s easy to use, you just click the underlined word and a box pops up to change it to the correct spelling/word choice or other grammar change. I’ve had a great experience with the free version but you can also upgrade to their pro version for even more editing tools.

StumbleBar

This is the perfect extension button for anyone that has downtime or loves to procrastinate. You simply push the “Stumble” button and a new page/article/photo based on your interest pops up for you to view. From there if you like it, hit the thumbs up and you’ll get more content like that in the future. Or you can quickly move on to the next page but just hit “Stumble” again. It’s an easy way to scan through articles quickly and as you use it more, it gets to know you and what you like to see so the content becomes even more relevant.

The Great Suspender

I’m notorious at work for having hundreds of tabs open at any given time. I pretty much know what they all are, but it can definitely be a drain on your computer’s battery having Chrome do all the work to keep them all “alive.” The Great Suspender takes that load off by “sleeping” tabs that you haven’t been active in recently (you set the timeout). The best part is you can whitelist sites so they never go to sleep and the extension has a lot of preferences to set around what kinds of tabs should and shouldn’t be suspended.

Camel Camel Camel

Any other Amazon addicts will want to immediately get in on this extension. Camel Camel Camel is a service that tracks Amazon prices, gives you price history charts and alerts you if a product you’re tracking drops below your defined price. This works super well for products that you know you want or will need in the future but aren’t necessarily dying to have in the normal 2-day ship time!

Full Page Screen Capture

Maybe this is just my job, but I often find myself having to take screenshots of entire web pages, beyond just what is viewable at any given time where command + shift + 4 just won’t cut it. I discovered Full Page Screen Capture because of that need, and have since found it supremely useful in many other contexts. It’s surprising to me how often I find a need to capture everything from the header to the footer of a page, and this extension saves me every time!
