Best Plane Snacks

We love to travel and we love to eat! We pride ourselves on being prepared for anything when it comes to traveling and you never know when you’ll need a snack. Here is a roundup of our favorite things to bring with us on the plane:

Stella’s Favorites

Trader Joe’s Peanut Butter Pretzels 914g3PhaGnL._SX522_

TJ’s is my go to spot for pre-travel snacks. They have a ton of great options for healthy snacks that will keep you going during the trip. My favorite is the peanut butter pretzels (with salt, though they also have a salt free option). They are delicious and full of protein. I always pack a bag before a big trip and they are also one of my go-to desk snacks at work.

That’s It Bars

These bars are 100% fruit, that’s it! They are a perfect quick pick me up for trips. I like that they are just enough to hold you over till you get to your final destination when you can get something more filling. They keep really well so if you don’t use them on the first leg of your trip, you can eat them on the way home.

I love these bars! They have very simple ingredients (dates, almonds, egg whites, chocolate, etc) and taste delicious. These are perfect for the plane because they don’t take up a ton of space but they are very filling. I also love these as a post-workout protein fix!

I’m not a huge snacker in everyday life, but for some reason on planes I am a lot more likely to want to reach for a handful of almonds, some dried mango, or a piece of fruit to satiate my hunger and/or keep me from feeling bored. To keep myself away from plane snacks (that are never good for you or your wallet), I try to always pack a good variety of snackable items!

I’m also a big Trader Joe’s fan when it comes to pre-flight snacks, but I usually head for their prepared foods isle instead. They make it so easy to grab-and-go with a sandwich or salad by packaging it up tightly and generally pretty small that having it on the plane as a meal (or even just a snack) is the perfect alternative to buying expensive airplane/airport food!

away_popcornPopcorn, M&MsChocolate-Covered Things

Am I the only one that uses the very start of a vacation when you’re boarding the plane to start indulging?! I’m a sucker for anything chocolate on the plane, and have also been known to make popcorn ahead of time to bring with (just be careful, this can take up some valuable space in your carry-on!).

Have any snacks you can’t get on a plane without? What’s your go-to I-forgot-to-bring-anything-and-am-forced-to-buy-something-at-the-airport choice?? Let us know in the comments!
